# 🏆 20ESPORTS – Official Tournament Rules

**Status:** Alpha / Development Phase
**Applies to:** All tournaments on 20ESPORTS
**Game formats:** 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5 and 6v6, where supported for the selected game

## 1. General

20ESPORTS tournaments provide a platform for competitive matches in classic competitive games. All participants are subject to the rules below and any additional tournament-specific rules that are published.

By participating in a tournament, players and teams agree to the applicable ruleset.

As 20ESPORTS is currently in its alpha and development phase, individual workflows and features may still change. The rules published before the start of each tournament take precedence.

## 2. Registration and Eligibility

- Players must have a valid 20ESPORTS player profile.
- Required game accounts must be added to the player's profile.
- For team tournaments, each team must meet the required player count.
- The eligibility requirements published for the individual tournament apply.
- False information about players, teams or game accounts may result in exclusion.
- Unless a different rule is announced, players may compete only for the team they are registered with for that tournament.

### 2.1 Discord Verification and Server Membership

For tournaments in **2v2 format and above**, Discord verification and membership in the official 20ESPORTS Discord server are mandatory for every participating player.

- Each player must link their Discord account to their 20ESPORTS player profile using the designated verification process.
- Each player must have joined the official 20ESPORTS Discord server.
- Verification must be completed before participating in the tournament.
- This requirement applies to every player on a team, not just the captain.
- Discord verification is not mandatory for 1v1 tournaments unless the individual tournament description specifies otherwise.
- Players who do not meet these requirements may be excluded from participation until verification is completed.

Discord membership is used for tournament communication, coordination and organization.

## 3. Check-in and Tournament Start

- If check-in is enabled, players or teams must check in within the specified time window.
- Participants who fail to check in may be removed from the tournament in accordance with its published rules.
- Participants are responsible for being available on time.
- Tournament brackets, matchups and match information must be checked before a match.
- Any questions should be directed to the tournament administration before the match begins.

## 4. Tournament Formats

Depending on the event, the following tournament formats may be used:

- Single Elimination
- Double Elimination
- Group Stage followed by a Knockout Stage
- Season, Playoff and Relegation formats, where offered for the event

The tournament structure, qualification requirements and number of rounds will be specified in the individual tournament description.

## 5. Match Format and Map Selection

The tournament organizer determines the match format.

- **BO1:** One map decides the match.
- **BO3:** The first team to win two maps wins the match.
- **BO5:** The first team to win three maps wins the match.

If a map-veto feature is provided for a tournament match, the teams must complete map selection using the designated process.

Only approved maps and the game settings specified for the match may be used.

## 6. Game-Specific Rules

Game settings follow the relevant 20ESPORTS standard profile:

Any deviations must be announced before the tournament begins. The settings actually approved for the tournament take precedence.

## 7. Conduct During Matches

- All participants must behave respectfully and demonstrate good sportsmanship.
- Cheats, unauthorized programs and other prohibited competitive advantages are forbidden.
- Match-fixing and collusion to manipulate results are prohibited.
- Players must not deliberately sabotage a match.
- Insults, threats and targeted harassment of other participants will not be tolerated.

## 8. Results and Disputes

- The administration may request suitable evidence if a result is disputed.
- Screenshots or other available match evidence must be provided when requested.
- The tournament administration will review disputed results and decide based on the available information.
- The administration may confirm or correct results and impose sanctions where rule violations are established.

Manipulated results or knowingly false reports may result in disqualification.

## 9. Disconnects and Technical Issues

Players affected by connection losses, server problems or other technical issues must report the situation promptly.

Depending on the circumstances, the administration may decide to:

- Continue the match
- Replay a map or match
- Rule on the result already achieved
- Award a loss for forfeiture or failure to appear

A technical issue does not automatically entitle a team to a replay.

## 10. No-Shows and Forfeits

- Participants must be ready to play at the scheduled match time.
- The tournament's published deadlines apply to late arrivals.
- Failure to appear may be recorded as a loss.
- Repeated violations may result in removal from the tournament.

## 11. Sanctions

Depending on the severity and frequency of a violation, the administration may impose the following measures:

- Warning
- Match loss
- Disqualification
- Exclusion from future tournaments

Serious violations may result in immediate exclusion.

## 12. Final Provisions

The tournament administration is responsible for interpreting and enforcing these rules. Any tournament-specific rules must be published before the event begins.

By participating in a 20ESPORTS tournament, players and teams confirm that they accept these rules.
